How to properly prepare for research - tips

For most tests, the patient does not need to be fasting.

Tests marked in blue on the referral indicate that the patient should report for a blood draw while fasting.

  • 🚫 To be fasting means at least 12 hours after eating a meal, unless your doctor has recommended a post-meal test.
  • 💧 Only unsweetened water or bitter (unsweetened) tea can be drunk before the test.

What not to eat:

  • 🚫 Meals, snacks, fruits, vegetables, breath freshening candies, chew gum, smoke cigarettes.

What not to drink:

  • 🚫 Flavored water, coffee, cola light/ cola "zero" drinks, energy drinks, juices.

Tests to be attended absolutely fasting:

      • ✔️ Glucose, Glucose load test
      • ✔️ Iron, ALT, AST, Proteinogram, Albumin, Amylase
      • ✔️ Panel ,,glucose +WR"
      • ✔️ Panel , "Liver tests" (total protein, bilirubin, AST, ALT)
      • ✔️ Panel , "comprehensive" (morphology, glucose, cholesterol, an.urine)
      • ✔️ Panel , "diabetic" (glucose, an.urine)
      • ✔️ Panel ,,transaminases" (ALT, AST)

Tests for which you must report to the Intake Point at specific times:

 

Monday-Saturday 7:30-9:00 a.m.

  • ✔️ Aldosterone
  • ✔️ Glucose load tests (sugar curves 2pts,3pts, 5pts).
  • ✔️ Prolactin test 3pts

Monday-Saturday 7:30-10:00 am

  • ✔️ Prolactin test 2pts
  • ✔️ ACTH
  • ✔️ Calcitonin
  • Monday-Saturday 7:30-10:30 a.m.
    • ✔️ ACP ( acid phosphatase)
    • ✔️ Growth hormone
    • ✔️ C-peptide
    • ✔️ Homocysteine
    • ✔️ Osteocalcin
