MAGNETIC RESONANCE

Magnetic Resonance Imaging

Why magnetic resonance imaging?

This test is especially recommended for people complaining of joint, spine, muscle, or headache pain . Patients with symptoms suggestive of nervous system disorders, such as dizziness, numbness in the limbs, or difficulty with coordination, are also often referred for MRI to assess the condition of the brain and spinal cord.

This examination is also recommended in the case of injuries that may damage soft tissues or internal organs, as well as in the diagnosis of cancer or inflammation.

Precision and comfort of examination

In our laboratory, examinations are performed on a modern GE MR 1.5T 450W GEM device with 32 channels – premium class magnetic resonance imaging system that provides diagnostics at a level not available in most other facilities.

Compared to standard MR devices, we offer:

Clearer and more accurate image.
Thanks to GEM (Geometry Embracing Method) technology and 32 reception channels,
even the smallest structures are clearly visible.

Comfort and shorter examination time
Technology speeds up the process and significantly reduces noise, which reduces stress and discomfort.

More accurate diagnostics
Our MRI detects changes that are often invisible on older hearing aid models.

Better quality of contrast examinations.
Detailed imaging of inflammatory, neoplastic and demyelinating changes.

Lower risk of having to repeat the examination
Thanks to the very high quality of images, the doctor has everything he needs after the first examination.

, ask about 5 key criteria

Photo description

Quieter, calmer , less stress

Acoustic Reduction Technology. Unlike many standard devices, our resonator operates much more quietly – without loud bangs or noises. This means less stress, especially for sound-sensitive individuals.

The examination is up to 2x shorter

32 receiving channels = faster examinations. The modern GE 1.5T 450W GEM with 32 channels significantly reduces examination time – by up to half compared to older devices with 8 or 16 channels. Less waiting. Less immobilization. More comfort.

3D image – better diagnostics

Advanced 3D technology. Images are generated using three-dimensional technology, ensuring significantly greater precision, better quality of radiological description, and a greater chance of an accurate diagnosis.

Less claustrophobia – more comfort

The opening is 70 cm in diameter. This is up to 10 cm larger than in most MRI machines (the standard is 60 cm). This makes the examination more comfortable and significantly reduces the feeling of being closed.

A safe test also for overweight people

The table has a load capacity of up to 226 kg. Our device allows for comfortable examinations of obese patients, thanks to its wide table and increased load capacity. Most other laboratories offer a limit of 110 kg.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

How to prepare for an MRI scan with contrast?

Preparing for an MRI with contrast requires several steps to ensure the examination is safe and accurate:

Preparation for contrast examination

  • Perform a blood creatinine test, no older than 7 days before the test.
  • Fast for 5 hours before the test – you can drink still water.

Additional recommendations for abdominal, pelvic and prostate examinations:

  • 15-30 minutes before the examination, take 1-2 No-spa tablets with still water.

Additional recommendations for prostate examination:

  • Please bring your total PSA test result with you to the examination (valid for up to 3 months).

General tips:

  • Bring previous test results (X-ray, ultrasound, MRI) regarding the organ being examined.
  • Wear clothes without metal elements (e.g. no buttons, belt).
  • Please report to the facility 30 minutes before your test with your ID.

What are the contraindications to MRI?

Contraindications to magnetic resonance imaging are divided into absolute and relative :

Absolute contraindications to performing the test:

  • weight over 226 kg,
  • pacemaker/pacemaker,
  • neurostimulators,
  • pregnancy – the risks and possible diagnostic benefits should be considered (in the case of pregnancy, please inform the laboratory staff),
  • surgical, aesthetic and invasive diagnostic procedures in the last 6 weeks,
  • ocular prosthesis, metal foreign bodies in the eyeball (e.g. metal filings, if suspected, an image of the eye sockets should be taken),
  • contraceptive coil – embolization coil (if made of ferromagnetic metals),
  • insulin pump or other drug delivery device, neurostimulator or other biostimulants,
  • hearing implant, internal hearing aid or ossicular plastic surgery cochlear implant (if it contains ferromagnetic metals).

Relative contraindications:

  • claustrophobia (fear of small, tight spaces) – it may be necessary to take sedatives (the patient should consult the possibility of taking medications with their doctor or family doctor and take them before the examination),
  • the presence of ferromagnetic metals in the body,
  • Orthodontic appliances and other metallic foreign bodies in the body – the possibility of performing the examination should be discussed with the laboratory staff! In most cases, they are not a contraindication to the examination. Metallic foreign bodies may cause local artifacts, partially hindering the assessment of adjacent structures, or (rarely) cause heating of adjacent tissues – the examination may then be interrupted. In such cases, there is no threat to the patient's life or health.
  • in the case of vascular clips, an MRI examination can be performed 6 weeks after clip implantation.
  • In the case of a tattoo or permanent makeup, you should wait 6 weeks after it is done, unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise.
