ENT inhalations

On the referral/recommendation, information about the dosage of the medicine to be given during inhalation is required.
  • It is advisable to bring along drinking water and a straw (it makes it easier to swallow during the inhalation).

Description of the study

ENT (therapeutic) inhalations used to treat diseases of the middle ear, Eustachian tube, paranasal sinuses and, in particular, impaired patency of the auditory trumpet.
A pneumatic inhaler has the ability to produce a vibroaerosol, that is, an aerosol enriched with additional energy from superimposing an acoustic wave on it and administering it under short-term positive pressure. Thanks to this positive pressure, the aerosol penetrates into the middle ear through the Eustachian tube and into the sinuses even through orifices with impaired patency. In the inhaler, positive pressure is regulated automatically by swallowing. The action of swallowing opens the mouth of the auditory trumpet with simultaneous closure of the nasal cavity by raising the soft palate. Through the corresponding nasal tip of the inhaler, positive pressure forces the vibroaerosol into the ear trumpet and middle ear. Repetition of this process results in natural physiotherapy of the trumpet.
The treatments are painless and safe.

It is recommended to use inhalations in a series of 10 treatments, 2-3 times a week, or they can be performed daily as indicated by the doctor. Inhalations can be repeated 2-3 times a year, especially in chronic conditions.
