Preparation for the examination
General
- Collection time between 7:00 and 9:00 a.m. (30 – 60 minutes after standing upright after a night’s rest).
- The material for testing is blood.
- The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.
Important
Samples brought from outside are not accepted for testing.
Description
Produced by the adrenal cortex, it contributes to reduced sodium secretion and increased water retention in the body. It influences blood pressure; its secretion is stimulated by the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system and is excreted in the urine.
