Description
Clinical significance:
The most important use of angiotensin-converting enzyme testing is to aid in the diagnosis and monitoring of sarcoidosis activity and treatment efficacy. In some patients, ACE levels increase in active disease, and a decrease during treatment may suggest improvement; an increase during follow-up may indicate relapse/exacerbation.
