Preparation
- On the day of the examination, you should take two enemas – one approximately 4 hours before the examination and the other approximately 2 hours before the examination.
- There is no need to fast for the test, and there is no need to follow a diet.
Description of the study
An anoscopy is an examination that involves examining the anal canal. During the examination, the doctor inserts a special, disposable speculum into the patient's anus, which allows for the examination of the internal portion of the anal canal for abnormalities (e.g., hemorrhoids, anal fissures, perianal fistulas, anal polyps).
Indications
- ailments related to the anal area (pain, itching, bleeding, feeling of unproductive urge to defecate).
