Description
Anti-Sm antibodies are autoantibodies against the Smith antigen, which are part of the U1-snRNP complex, abbreviated as RNP/Sm.
Anti-Sm antibodies are highly specific for SLE, and their differentiation with the RNP molecule allows for the differential diagnosis of SLE and MCTD.
