Preparation for the examination
General
- The material for testing is blood.
- The patient must fast. On the day before the test, a light,
low-fat diet is recommended, along with refraining from intense physical activity and stimulants. - On the day of your blood test, you should avoid drinking coffee or smoking. It's recommended to drink a glass of water.
Rest for 15-20 minutes before your blood test.
Detailed for babies
- For children up to 3 years of age, it is recommended to collect blood half to one hour after feeding.

Znaczenie badania: diagnostyka różnicowania skaz krwotocznych, kontrola leczenia heparyna, kontrola terapii substytucyjnej hemofilii A i B, przedoperacyjne badanie przesiewowe pod kątem występowania koagulopatii.
Wydłużenie czasu: niedobór pojedynczych czynników krzepnięcia, koagulopatia ze zużycia, leczenie heparyna/hirudyna, nabyty antykoagulant toczniowy.
Skrócenie czasu: może być wyrazem nadkrzepliwości.
