Description
Prenatal testing performed in the first trimester of pregnancy (between 11 and 14 weeks of pregnancy) to determine the risk of fetal chromosomal aberrations (Down syndrome, Edwards syndrome, Patau syndrome, neural tube defects, and others).
The test includes an assessment of biochemical parameters in the mother's blood:
PAPP-A protein concentration, free beta-hCG subunit concentration, and a pregnancy ultrasound performed by a gynecologist certified by the FMF Fetal Medicine Foundation. Biochemical marker levels are measured in blood serum using
FMF-certified tests.
An integral part of the test is the estimation of the risk of fetal genetic defects using statistical software certified by the Polish Gynecological Society - Ultrasound Section and the FMF Fetal Medicine Foundation.
