Cytogenetic test performed using the FISH technique using the BCR::ABL1 t(9;22) Fusion probe

• The test is collected at a dedicated Collection Point.
• The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.

Samples brought from outside are not accepted for testing.

Cytogenetic testing performed using the FISH technique using the BCR::ABL1 t(9;22) Fusion probeThe t(9;22) translocation between chromosomes 9 and 22 results in the creation of the BCR/ABL1 fusion gene. This aberration is most often found in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) as well as in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). FISH testing with a probe detecting the t(9;22) translocation allows for confirmation of the diagnosis of CML, and in the case of ALL, where it is a factor of poor prognosis, assigns the patient to a high-risk group, which is associated with a different clinical management.
