General

The material should be collected before the first dose of antibiotic is administered.
Culture is performed for aerobic bacteria.

Description

CPE strains are a group of enterobacteria that have acquired resistance to most antibiotics, including carbapenems.

In most cases, CPE bacilli living in the digestive tract do not cause infection.

The aim of the test is to detect the carriage of CPE strains in the anus.
