Description
Fine-needle aspiration biopsy is used to diagnose palpable and non-palpable tumors.
For non-palpable tumors, the biopsy is performed under the guidance of topographic (imaging) techniques, such as computed tomography (CT), mammography,
scintigraphy, or ultrasonography (USG). This is known as a targeted biopsy (FNAB) (or selective biopsy).
