Preparation
- The patient should report for the test after a meal (the patient should be full).
- Anticoagulants should be discontinued 5 days before the biopsy, unless otherwise advised by the doctor.
- You must come with a referral for the test - it is absolutely required.
- You should bring with you the medical documentation of the examined organ (e.g., ultrasound with description, mammography with description, isotope test result).
- Koszt oceny histopatologicznej pobranego materiału (za bioptat) – 120zł. W niektórych przypadkach do uzyskania rozpoznania może być konieczne wykonanie dodatkowych badań (odczyny immunohistochemiczne), podlegających dodatkowej opłacie.
Description of the study
A thick-needle biopsy involves puncturing a lesion/tumor under local anesthesia with a special needle, which is filled with pathologically altered tissue. The specimen taken is submitted for histopathological examination. After the procedure, the patient does not require any special treatment. Biopsy applies to: breast, lymph nodes, subcutaneous lesions of tumor nature.
