Description

WB IgG- 393
According to guidelines, serological diagnosis of Lyme disease should be performed in two stages: first, an ELISA test should be performed, then positive/questionable results should be confirmed with an immunoblot test. The Western Blot test is used for the qualitative in vitro determination of human IgG antibodies to Borrelia antigens in serum or plasma. The EUROLINE-RN-AT-IgG Anti-Borrelia test uses a highly purified, recombinant VlsE antigen from three pathogenic species: Borrelia afzelii (Ba), Borrelia burgdorferii (Bb), and Borrelia garinii (Bg). In addition, antigens extracted from the lipid fraction of the cell membrane of B. afzelii and B. burgdorferii were used. Antibodies against these lipids often indicate the late phase of infection, as well as antigens p83, p41, p39, OspC, p58, p21, p19, and p18. In the case of a positive result, antibodies present in the patient's serum bind to bacterial antigens located on the membrane strips.
