Description
WB IgM-394
According to guidelines, serological diagnosis of Lyme disease should be performed in two stages: first, an ELISA test should be performed, then positive/questionable results should be confirmed with an immunoblot test. The Western Blot test is used for the qualitative in vitro determination of human IgM antibodies against Borrelia antigens in serum or plasma. In the IgM Anti Borrelia EUROLINE-RN-AT-adv test, a particularly important antigenic component is the dimeric, covalently bound OspC advanced from four pathogenic Borrelia species (B. afzelii, garinii, burgdorferii, spielmanii). Additionally, antibodies against the following antigens are detected: VlsE from B. burgdorferii, p41, and p39. In the case of a positive result, antibodies present in the patient's serum bind to bacterial antigens located on the membrane strips.
