General
- The material for testing is blood.
- The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.
Description
The concentration of free zinc ions and the intracellular content of this element are low. Zinc deficiency causes a variety of disorders: hair loss, parakeratosis, acrodermatitis, impaired wound healing, hypogonadism, and immunological disorders.
Indications for testing: Acrodermatitis enteropathica, impaired wound healing, and long-term parenteral nutrition.
