- The patient must not be undergoing treatment with high molecular weight heparin.

Description
Factor X is a serine protease that is part of the coagulation system. Vitamin K is required for the synthesis of factor X. It circulates in the blood in an inactive form. Factor X deficiencies may result from insufficient protein synthesis in the liver, vitamin K deficiency, or hematological malignancies. Symptoms of factor X deficiency include abnormal bleeding, severe bruising, blood in the urine (hematuria), frequent nosebleeds, and intra-articular hemorrhages.
