Preparation for the examination

General

The material for testing is blood.
The patient must fast. On the day before the test, a light,
low-fat diet is recommended, along with refraining from intense physical activity and stimulants.
On the day of your blood test, you should avoid drinking coffee or smoking. It's recommended to drink a glass of water.
Rest for 15-20 minutes before your blood test.

D dimers are the only markers of coagulation abnormalities that effectively identify the presence of stabilized fibrin. D dimers are increased in DIC, neoplastic processes, and thromboembolic processes.
