Preparation
- You should not take painkillers on the day of the examination.
- Please bring with you the results of any imaging, neurophysiological and laboratory tests performed so far, if any.
Description of the study
A diagnostic test assessing peripheral nerve conduction and muscle function, examining neuromuscular junctions in neurological and orthopedic disorders. Conductance velocity in sensory fibers is normally measured using standard stimulating electrodes.
Contraindications
- implanted electric pacemaker,
- metal elements in the heart (e.g. artificial valve),
- metal elements in the examined body area, e.g. endoprostheses.
