Description
Diagnosing chronic rhinitis. Differentiating chronic rhinitis and pharyngitis of allergic origin from other causes, such as bacterial ones.
The presence of eosinophilic cells (eosinocytes) in the nasal and pharyngeal mucosa is characteristic of atopic dermatitis.
In children, the presence of eosinocytes in nasal mucosa cytology is almost 100% consistent with allergic rhinitis.
Eosinophils are the only cells found in nasal mucosa cytograms that demonstrate a significant correlation
with the severity of allergic rhinitis symptoms.
