General
- The test material is a nasal swab.
- Do not use nasal drops before collecting the material.
Description
Diagnosis of chronic rhinitis. Differentiation of chronic rhinitis and pharyngitis of allergic and other origin, such as bacterial.
The presence of eosinophilic cells ( eosinocytes) in the mucosa of the nose, throat is characteristic of atopic reaction.
In children, the presence of eosinocytes in the cytological image of the nasal mucosa speaks almost 100% in favor of allergic rhinitis.
Eosinophils as the only cells present in the cytograms of mucosal smears show a significant correlation
with the severity of allergic rhinitis symptoms.
