Important
The test is performed in the dietitian's office. The result of the test, along with basic recommendations, is given to the patient as soon as one hour after the test.
Description
The test is performed to identify the causes of complaints related to intolerance to the foods consumed.
Food intolerance ( hypersensitivity, type III allergy) is an immune reaction, characterized by the production of IgG antibodies in response to certain foods.
Antibodies, together with fragments of intolerated food proteins, form immune complexes that can have a detrimental effect on the functioning of the body, inducing inflammation - systemic or localized in specific tissues.
The most common symptoms of food intolerance include anxiety, depression, irritable bowel syndrome, headaches/migraines, fatigue, hypertension, eczema, asthma, joint pain, chronic rhinitis, arthritis, abdominal pain, weight problems.
FoodDetective is a test based on the qualitative ELISA method and is used to diagnose elevated levels of food-specific IgG antibodies(1-4) .
The test detects IgG antibodies against the following foods:
Oats, wheat, rice, corn, rye, Durum wheat, gluten, almonds, Brazil nut, cashew nut, tea, walnut, cow's milk, whole egg, chicken, lamb, beef, pork, mixed white fish (haddock, cod, flatfish), mixed freshwater fish (salmon, trout), tuna, mixed shellfish (shrimp, lobster, crab, clams), broccoli, cabbage, carrots, leek, potato, celery, cucumber, peppers ( red, green, yellow), mixed legumes (peas, lentils, Haricot beans), grapefruit, melons ( cantaloupe, watermelon), peanuts, soybeans, cocoa, apple, black currant, olives, orange and lemon, strawberry, tomato, ginger, garlic, mushrooms, yeast.
The test can be performed only during a visit to the dietetics/nutrition clinic at CM Luxmed.
Based on the result of the test, the dietitian determines dietary recommendations and elimination diet.
