Preparation for the examination
General
- The material for testing is blood.
- The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.
Specific for women
- Blood should be collected between days 3 and 5 of your menstrual cycle, unless your doctor recommends otherwise.
Description
FSH to hormon płciowy powstający w przednim płacie przysadki mózgowej, wykazuje okresową czynność zależną od podwzgórza. U kobiet FSH wpływa na cykl miesiączkowy-pobudza wzrost i dojrzewanie pęcherzyka jajnikowego (Graafa), natomiast u mężczyzn (wspólnie z testosteronem) reguluje tworzenie nasienia-pobudza spermatogenezę. Znaczenie badania FSH: diagnostyka opóźnionego dojrzewania płciowego, zaburzeń cyklu miesiączkowego, zaburzeń spermatogenezy u mężczyzn. Wartości nieprawidłowe: u pacjentek z anoreksją oraz bulimią, a także w stanach skrajnego niedożywienia i wyniszczenia, w przedwczesnej menopauzie, w schorzeniach przedniego płata przysadki mózgowej.
