General
- The test material is blood.
- The patient does not need to be fasting.About 30 minutes before the test, it is advisable to drink a glass of water or bitter(unsweetened) tea.
Description
FT3 is a hormone produced by the thyroid gland.
Increased values: thyrotoxicosis, iodine deficiency, after treatment with iodine for several months.
Decreased values: post-surgical states and severe non-thyroid related diseases, hypothyroidism.
