Factors that may affect test results: Clinical conditions associated with increased unconjugated bilirubin levels
. Note:
Results may also be affected by dehydration, diet, alcohol, intense exercise, or the method of sample collection. Results should be considered in conjunction with other data, such as clinical symptoms, results of other tests, or clinical diagnosis
. Interference from medications or endogenous substances may affect the results.
A detailed list of interfering substances is available from the Laboratory upon request (manufacturer's instructions).

Description
Glucose is the most important sugar, influencing carbohydrate metabolism. A glucose tolerance test (10 hours after the last meal) and a daily blood glucose profile reflect the efficiency of sugar metabolism. The kidneys excrete sugar only after exceeding the renal threshold, i.e., when the concentration in urine exceeds 180 mg/dL.
The importance of this test: assessing carbohydrate metabolism, diagnosing and evaluating the effectiveness of diabetes treatment. Abnormal glucose values may occur in cases of: improper or excessive nutrition, familial predisposition, diabetes, pancreatic disease, infections, trauma, myocardial infarction, pregnancy, and stress.
Factors that may influence the test result:
The patient must fast for at least 12 hours after consuming the last meal, unless the doctor recommends otherwise (e.g. performing the test after a meal).
You should not eat meals, snacks, fruits, vegetables, breath fresheners, chew gum, or smoke cigarettes. Before the test, you should only drink plain water or bitter (unsweetened) tea. Do not drink coffee, flavored water, cola light/cola zero, energy drinks, or juices.
