Preparation for the examination
General
- For surgical procedures, the following are required: two unconfirmed blood group test results, or a confirmed result (issued on the basis of two tests from two blood samples taken from the same patient at different times), or a Blood Group Identification Card.
- The material for testing is blood.
- The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.
- The result can only be collected at the facility where the test was ordered.
Important
Please bring your ID card or passport with you to your test! The laboratory does not record blood type results in military records or other documents. Results can only be collected at the facility where the test was ordered.
Please note that due to the implementation of new regulations, a single blood type test result will not be accepted for surgical procedures. The following will be accepted:
– Blood Group Identification Card
– Blood group test result confirmed
– Two blood group test results unconfirmed (each issued on the basis of one test).
Legal basis: Regulations of the Minister of Health (Regulation of the Minister of Health of 8 July 2019 on treatment with blood and its components in medical entities performing medical activities such as stationary and 24-hour health services).
To issue a confirmed blood typing result, two blood typing results are required, obtained from two blood samples taken from the same patient at different times. Each test is separately charged.
If the patient's blood group test result obtained in another laboratory is used to issue a confirmed blood group result (in such a case, the second test must be performed in the CM Luxmed Laboratory), or a result obtained in the CM Luxmed Laboratory before 2016, a photocopy or transcript of this result must be attached to the order.
Description
a complete ABO and Rh(D) blood typing test and a screening test for the presence of immune antibodies in the patient's serum, which includes an indirect antiglobulin test (Coombs' test).
In approximately 1% of the population, obtaining a blood typing result
is not possible using the methods described. In such cases, specialized testing is necessary at the Consultative Testing Laboratory of the Regional Blood Donation and Treatment Center; the cost of these tests is borne by the patient.
