HBc antibodies IgM

• The test material is blood.
• The patient does not need to be fasting.About 30 minutes before the test it is advisable to drink a glass of water.

Anti-HBc antibodies are detected soon after the appearance of HBsAg surface antigen. Since anti-HBs antibodies can appear with some delay after the disappearance of HBs antigen, they are sometimes the only serological marker of HBV infection and infectivity of the patient's blood. The level of IgM antibodies against the cortical antigen of the virus will decrease in the form of acute uncomplicated infection, while IgG antibodies will persist for years.
NOTE:
According to the Decree of the Minister of Health dated 26.06.2020, a positive test result is subject to mandatory reporting to the District Sanitary and Epidemiological Station.
