- The patient does not need to be fasting.About 30 minutes before the test it is advisable to drink a glass of water.
Description
The test detects HBV infection, which causes hepatitis B (hepatitis B).
HBV infection can be acute (symptomatic) or often asymptomatic. The course of the disease can be influenced by other factors, such as alcohol abuse or infection with other viruses.HBV is transmitted through contact with blood and blood products, as well as through sexual contact. The consequence of untreated, chronic infection with this virus can be cirrhosis of the liver or even liver cancer.HBV carriage is relatively high.Early detection of infection, possible through the use of PCR testing, significantly increases the chances of cure.
