Important
Description
Celiac disease test (DQ2.2/DQ2.5/DQ8) - PCR method has a high negative predictive value, i.e. a negative result excludes the disease in over 99% of cases, while a positive result indicates the disease or predisposition to the disease.
Only the detection of the complete antigen molecule, i.e., the presence of the α and β subunits of the DQ2/DQ8 antigen, is of clinical significance. At the genetic level, this means the simultaneous identification of both alleles encoding the α and β subunits (according to the latest ESPGHAN recommendations from 2012).
The HLA-DQ2/DQ8 test, based on microarray technology, allows for detailed analysis of several different alleles encoding DQ2/DQ8 subunits in a single test.
The HLA-DQ2/DQ8 test detects individual alleles encoding both subunits (α and β) of the DQ2 and DQ8 antigens. This allows for the differentiation of patients with the complete antigen from those with only one subunit.
