Preparation for the examination

General

The material for testing is blood.
Approximately 30 minutes before the examination, it is recommended to drink 1 glass of water only.
The patient must fast for at least 12 hours after consuming the last meal, unless the doctor recommends otherwise (e.g. performing the test after a meal)
Before the test you may only drink water.
You should not drink coffee, flavored water, drinks such as cola light/cola “zero”, energy drinks, or juices.
You should not eat meals, snacks, fruits, vegetables, breath fresheners, chew gum, or smoke cigarettes.

For children up to 3 years of age, it is recommended to collect blood half to one hour after feeding.

Important

The laboratory also performs an insulin curve test, which is a separate test.
Purchase only in-store. To test your insulin curve, you must have a referral from your doctor, specifying the loading dose, the number of draws after loading, and the time intervals between draws.

For a single insulin test (without load) no referral is required.

Description

Insulin levels are typically measured to determine the cause of hypoglycemia.
Ordering the test constitutes consent to its performance using the chemiluminescence method.
