Preparation for the examination
General
- For testing, a hazelnut-sized stool sample should be collected in a disposable container (without transport medium or preservatives).
- Until the stool is delivered to the collection point, the sealed container with the collected material should be stored in a cool place, but not longer than 2 days.
- The container containing the collected material must be signed.
Important
Metoda immunoenzymatyczna nie wymaga bezmięsnej diety, gdyż wykrywana jest tylko hemoglobina ludzka.
Badania nie wykonuje się podczas menstruacji (minimum 3 dni po jej zakończeniu).
Na około 3 dni przed badaniem należy powstrzymać się od zabiegów stomatologicznych( możliwość połknięcia krwi) oraz odstawić aspirynę.

Badanie „kał na krew utajoną” wykonywane jest jako badanie przesiewowe występowania choroby wrzodowej, nowotworu jelita grubego bądź polipów okrężnicy. Badania nie wykonuje się podczas menstruacji (minimum 3 dni po jej zakończeniu).
