Preparation for the examination
General
- The material for testing is blood.
- The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.
- The patient should report for testing without taking their morning dose.
For drug monitoring, testing should be performed 2-4 hours after the last dose.
Valproic acid samples should be collected at a consistent time of day,
as circadian rhythms influence its concentration.
