Preparation for the study

The test material is blood.
The patient does not need to be fasting.About 30 minutes before the test, it is advisable to drink a glass of water or bitter(unsweetened) tea.
The patient should report for the test without taking the morning dose of the drug.
If the drug is monitored, the determination should be performed 2-4 hours after the last dose.
Valproic acid sampling should be done at a fixed time of day,
because its concentration is affected by the diurnal rhythm.
