Description
PTH is synthesized in epithelial cells. Its secretion depends on the concentration of ionized calcium in the blood flowing through the parathyroid glands.
Indications for the test are disturbed calcium, phosphate metabolism;
urolithiasis, renal failure, syndrome of
impaired absorption.
