Preparation for the examination

General

  • The material for testing is blood.
  • The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.

Description

Antinuclear antibodies (ANA) Immunoblot – a so-called "second-line" test that identifies antibodies present in the screening test. The patient receives information on the result (in accordance with rheumatology society recommendations): interpretation (positive/borderline/negative), type of fluorescence, titer of antibodies present, antibody class, which antibodies were detected in the Immunoblot test, and clinical commentary.
Antibodies identified in the Immunoblot test (QUALITATIVE test! positive: "+" negative "-" in table form!): anti: DSF 70, dsDNA, histones, nucleosomes, SS-A, SS-B, Ro-52, Scl70, nRNP/Sm, Sm, PM-Scl, Jo-1, CENP B, PCNA, ribosomal protein P, AMA-M2 (antimitochondrial).
The test is performed to diagnose autoimmune diseases, e.g. rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, sicca syndrome (Sjogren's syndrome), mixed connective tissue disease, dermatomyositis and polymyositis.
