- The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.
Description
This test is a helpful aid in diagnosing preeclampsia (preeclampsia) in pregnant women and serves as an indicator of micro- and macrovascular atherosclerotic changes.
Preeclampsia is a pregnancy complication leading to abnormal fetal development.
Women with diabetes, insulin resistance, lipid disorders, obesity, chronic hypertension, and women exposed to stress are particularly at risk for preeclampsia. Knowledge of maternal PlGF concentration, combined with clinical symptoms, proteinuria, and the results of a uterine artery blood flow test, improves the diagnostic potential for preeclampsia.
