Polycheck Molecules Pollen

• The test material is blood.
• The patient does not need to be fasting.About 30 minutes before the test, it is advisable to drink a glass of water or bitter(unsweetened) tea.
• Antihistamines can be taken before the test.

Phl p 1, Phl p 5 - are major markers of allergy to timothy grass and other grasses. In people with symptoms of grass allergy, positive results for these molecules are a good marker indicating a good chance of effectiveness of immunotherapy with an allergen vaccine.

Bet v 1 - the main birch molecule most often responsible for clinical symptoms. In people with symptoms of birch allergy, a positive result for this molecule is a good marker indicating a good chance of effectiveness of immunotherapy with an allergen vaccine. People who are allergic to this birch molecule may also report complaints from, for example, the mouth after eating raw fruits and vegetables, and may also have inhalation symptoms during the pollen season of other trees, such as: hazel, alder and oak.

Phl p 7, Phl p 12, Bet v 2 - are among the allergens responsible for cross-reactions between grass, weed and tree pollen. Positive results, only for these molecules, may indicate a low chance of effectiveness of allergen vaccine immunotherapy. As a result of cross-reactions (but rather rarely), symptoms may occur after eating plant foods, such as melon, tomato, orange or other tropical fruits.
