Preparation for the examination
General
- The material should be collected before the first dose of antibiotic is administered.
- Culture is performed for aerobic bacteria.
Important
We perform a nasal swab culture to detect aerobic bacteria.
An antibiogram is performed to eliminate the bacteria responsible for carriage in the nasal cavity. If further microbiological diagnostics are necessary, the time to issue the result may be longer.
It is possible to analyze a swab brought in from outside, provided the material was collected by a physician/medical staff. We do not accept material collected by the patient themselves.
