Description of the study
Posturography consists of a static and dynamic part (on a moving platform). It is an objective method of assessing the functional state of the balance organ, in which the displacement of the subject's center of gravity is observed. It is used in the diagnosis of patients with damaged parts of the balance organ (vestibular neuronitis, post-traumatic damage to the vestibule, Meniere's disease) and patients with central balance disorders. The test is also used in the diagnosis and evaluation of geriatric patients.
The test evaluates the condition of the vagus itself, as well as visual and somatostatic (proprioceptive) functions. The patient stands on a platform (first stationary, then moving) trying to maintain balance while visually controlling a reference point, with eyes closed and with optokinesis (distracted vision).

Platform rehabilitation involves selecting appropriate exercises and performing them using a stationary and dynamic posturograph base. Depending on the type of disorder (central, peripheral, post-traumatic and other), it allows to adjust effective therapy by habituation or damage substitution. The selection of exercises depends on the diagnosis and aims to identify the best solutions individually for each patient.
