Preparation for the examination

General

The material for testing is blood.
Approximately 30 minutes before the examination, it is recommended to drink 1 glass of water only.
The patient must fast for at least 12 hours after consuming the last meal, unless the doctor recommends otherwise (e.g. performing the test after a meal)
Before the test you may only drink water.
You should not drink coffee, flavored water, drinks such as cola light/cola “zero”, energy drinks, or juices.
You should not eat meals, snacks, fruits, vegetables, breath fresheners, chew gum, or smoke cigarettes.

Description

It allows for the identification of five basic protein groups: albumin, alpha-1 globulin, alpha-2 globulin, beta-globulin, and gamma-globulin.
Abnormalities in the test consist of quantitative changes and percentage changes in individual protein fractions in the proteinogram. They occur in numerous pathologies, including inflammatory conditions, systemic diseases, cancers, liver and kidney disorders, and many other conditions, often taking on a characteristic appearance for a given condition.
