- The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.
Description
This test is performed to diagnose antiphospholipid syndrome, autoimmune diseases, and recurrent miscarriages.
Antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), also known as Hughes syndrome, is characterized by symptoms of vascular thrombosis, recurrent miscarriages, and the presence of serum antibodies specific for anionic phospholipids and phospholipid-binding proteins.
Clinical criteria for antiphospholipid syndrome include:
1. vascular thrombosis;
2. spontaneous miscarriages.
