- After the examination, it is advisable to eat a meal
due to the possibility of reactive hypoglycemia (fainting).
Detailed for children
- We perform the test on children from 5 years of age, provided they cooperate and are able to drink the entire glucose solution within 5 minutes.
- The glucose tolerance test for children up to 18 years of age can only be performed at CM Luxmed facilities
at ul. Radziwiłłowska 5, ul. Zwycięska 6A and ul. Orkana 7. - In the case of minors (under 18 years of age), the referral must specify the glucose load dose and the time of collecting subsequent samples after the load.
Important
A referral from a physician is required for the test. For minors (under 18 years of age), the referral must specify the glucose challenge dose and the time for collecting subsequent samples after the challenge.
Samples brought from outside the facility will not be accepted for testing.
Due to the risk of reactive hypoglycemia, it is recommended that after the test (after collecting the last post-challenge sample), the patient eat a small meal and remain at the facility for approximately 10 minutes. Remaining at the facility after the test is for the patient's safety. If the patient feels unwell, they can report this and seek appropriate medical attention.
