Preparation for the examination

General

The material for testing is blood.
Approximately 30 minutes before the examination, it is recommended to drink 1 glass of water only.

Kobiety ciężarne – wg zaleceń lekarza na skierowaniu, w przypadku braku zaleceń na skierowaniu 3 pkt – 75 g
Pacjenci małoletni (poniżej 18 roku życia) – ściśle wg zaleceń lekarza kierującego zamieszczonych na skierowaniu (dawka obciążenia, ilość i czas kolejnych pobrań po obciążeniu).
The patient receives the recommended dose of glucose in our facilities.
The patient must fast for at least 12 hours after consuming the last meal, unless the doctor recommends otherwise (e.g. performing the test after a meal)
Before the test you may only drink water.
You should not drink coffee, flavored water, drinks such as cola light/cola “zero”, energy drinks, or juices.
You should not eat meals, snacks, fruits, vegetables, breath fresheners, chew gum, or smoke cigarettes.
You must remain in place throughout the examination.
After the first fasting blood sample, the patient is given a glucose solution to drink, and then subsequent blood samples are collected at recommended intervals.
Po zakończonym badaniu wskazane jest spożycie posiłku,
z uwagi na możliwość wystąpienia hipoglikemii reaktywnej (omdlenia)

Detailed for children

We perform the test on children from 5 years of age, provided they cooperate and are able to drink the entire glucose solution within 5 minutes.
Test obciążenia glukozą u dzieci do 18 rż można wykonać wyłącznie w placówkach CM Luxmed
przy ul. Radziwiłłowskiej 5, ul. Zwycięskiej 6A i Orkana 7.
In the case of minors (under 18 years of age), the referral must specify the glucose load dose and the time of collecting subsequent samples after the load.

Important

Na badanie wymagane jest skierowanie od lekarza. U osób małoletnich ( poniżej 18 roku życia) na skierowaniu musi być określona dawka obciążenia glukozą oraz czas pobrania kolejnych próbek po obciążeniu.
Próbki przyniesione z zewnątrz nie są przyjmowane do badania.
Ze względu na zagrożenie wystąpieniem hipoglikemii reaktywnej zalecane jest, aby po zakończonym teście (po pobraniu ostatniej próbki po obciążeniu) pacjent spożył niewielki posiłek i pozostał w placówce ok 10 min. Pozostanie w placówce po wykonaniu testu ma na celu zapewnienie bezpieczeństwa pacjentowi.
W razie złego samopoczucia pacjent może zgłosić ten fakt i uzyskać stosowną pomoc medyczną.

Próba doustnego obciażenia glukozą, służy do rozpoznania cukrzycy u osób z prawidłowym lub nieznacznie podwyższonym poziomem cukru na czczo.
Glukozę podaje się doustnie i oznacza jej poziom na czczo, po 30 min, 60 min, 90 min oraz 120 min od podania glukozy.
