Preparation for the examination
General
- The material for testing is blood.
- The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.

Na wykonanie testu wymagane jest skierowanie od lekarza kierującego,na skierowaniu powinien być określony czas pobrania kolejnych próbek po obciążeniu.
Wykonuje się oznaczenie po obciążeniu MCP (metoklopramid)- zgodnie z zaleceniem lekarza.
Zleconą dawkę leku pacjent otrzymuje w placówkach: Lublin: ul. Radziwiłłowska 5, ul. Królewska 11, ul. Zwycięska 6A, ul. Koncertowa 4D, ul. Description
Prolactin is released from the anterior pituitary gland. Its secretion is inhibited by dopamine released from the hypothalamus. After isolating prolactin from the pituitary gland, blood, and amniotic fluid, it was found to exist in several forms with varying molecular weights and to be structurally similar to growth hormone. Prolactin plays a key role in initiating and maintaining lactation, when its serum concentration physiologically increases. Pathological hyperprolactinemia occurs in hyperpituitarism and renal failure. Hyperprolactinemia causes impaired gonadal function in both sexes. In women, it can lead to amenorrhea and in men, impotence.
