Preparation for the examination
General
- The material for testing is blood.
- The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.

Description
The QuantiFERON-TB Gold In-Tube test is used to assess the likelihood of latent
Mycobacteriumtuberculosis infection or to confirm/exclude tuberculosis disease.
The test measures IFN-γ levels as an in vitro identification of the cellular response to antigens simulating the ESAT-6, CFP-10, and TB7.7 (p4) proteins found in M. tuberculosiscomlex, excluding BCG strains comprising the tuberculosis vaccine. This eliminates false-positive results in individuals previously vaccinated with BCG.
Interpretation of the result requires a combined assessment of the patient's diagnostic, microbiological, and radiographic tests performed to date, as well as epidemiological data.
