Description

TORCH is an abbreviation of infectious diseases that are usually asymptomatic or mild in people without immunocompromise, but during pregnancy they have a significant impact on the child's health and may cause congenital defects in newborns.

ONE TEST 10 RESULTS!

The TORCH 10 IgG test profile includes:

T- Toxoplasmosis,

O- Other: parvovirus B19, smallpox, syphilis, whooping cough, chlamydia trachomatis

R- Little Rose,

C- Cytomegalovirus,

H- Herpes (herpes virus) 1 and 2.

The effects of infection with TORCH microorganisms in the fetus may appear immediately after birth, during infancy or in later years.

The most serious consequences of fetal infection occur early in pregnancy, potentially resulting in severe developmental defects and even miscarriage.

TORCH IgG Profile – detects class G antibodies, indicating a past infection. These are immune antibodies that protect the body against recent infection.

In the case of a high titer of these antibodies, a woman planning a pregnancy should exclude a recent infection (within the last 6 months) by performing an antibody avidity test.
