TORCH is an acronym derived from the names of infectious diseases that are usually asymptomatic or mild in people without immunodeficiency, while during pregnancy they have a significant impact on the health of the baby and can cause birth defects in newborns.Torch-profile IgM is a qualitative test.
The TORCH test profile includes: Toxoplasmosis, Rubella, Cytomegalovirus, Herpes ( herpes virus).

The effects of infection with TORCH microorganisms in the fetus can appear immediately after birth, in infancy or in later years.
The most serious consequences are fetal infections in early pregnancy. Severe malformations and even pregnancy loss can then occur.

TORCH Profile IgM detects antibodies in class M usually indicative of fresh infection. Such a result requires further testing and consultation with a doctor.
