Preparation for the study

General

The test material is blood.
The patient does not need to be fasting.About 30 minutes before the test it is advisable to drink a glass of water.

Important

Consumption of a meal does not directly affect the result, but can cause serum lipemia, which can interfere with the test,so it is recommended to draw blood 1-2 hours after the last meal

Description

Toxoplasma IgM test is designed especially for women of childbearing age.
It is an element in the diagnosis of toxoplasmosis - the acute form of the disease, fresh infection and reactivation of infection.
Correct diagnosis of toxoplasmosis is particularly important for pregnant women, as early treatment reduces the risk of fetal damage.
In case of a positive result in a newborn, the test result in accordance with the RMZ of 26.06.2020 is subject to mandatory reporting to the PSSE.
The presence of antibodies in the IgM class in the blood indicates a currently ongoing disease process.
