Treponema pallidum - confirmation tests (FTA, TPHA, VDRL, FTA ABS)

• The material for testing is blood.
• The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.

A common feature of all serological tests for syphilis is the detection of antibodies in the patient's blood serum, indicating infection with Treponema pallidum. Serological tests are divided into classical and treponemal tests based on specificity. FTA and FTA ABS are a type of treponemal test. These methods use treponema pallidum as antigens to induce a specific serological reaction with specific antibodies. A frequently used test from this group is the FTA test, which involves the use of treponema pallidum as antigens to induce a specific serological reaction with specific antibodies. NOTE:
