Preparation for the examination
General
- The material for testing is blood.
- The patient does not need to fast. It is recommended to drink a glass of water approximately 30 minutes before the examination.
Important
Factors that may affect test results:
Taking medications, supplements, and other substances: Acetylcysteine, ascorbic acid, calcium dobesilate, Dicynone (etamsylate), Levodopa, Methyldopa, and clinical conditions associated with elevated total protein and bilirubin levels, dyslipidemia (hypertriglyceridemia).
Note:
Dehydration, diet, alcohol, intense exercise, or sample collection method may also affect results. Results should be considered in conjunction with other data, such as clinical symptoms, results of other tests, or clinical diagnosis.
Interference from medications or endogenous substances may affect the results.
A detailed list of interfering substances is available from the laboratory upon request (manufacturer's instructions).

Importance of the study: assessment of fat metabolism, risk of atherosclerosis.
Abnormal values: metabolic disorders, atherosclerosis, alcohol abuse, diabetes, kidney and liver diseases, hypothyroidism.
Factors that may influence the test result:
The patient must fast for at least 12 hours after consuming the last meal, unless the doctor recommends otherwise (e.g. performing the test after a meal).
